What is Novum Studio (As & Ds)?

Novum Studio is Novum's built-in creative suite with two apps: Audio Studio (As) — a browser DAW for recording, layering and mixing tracks, and Design Studio (Ds) — a graphics editor for cover art, thumbnails and social posts. Open it from your dashboard → Novum Studio, then pick As or Ds. It's being pushed updates constantly, so if there's a feature you want, tell us and watch it get added.

Audio Studio: how do I start a track?

Audio Studio opens empty. Hit 'Add a voice track' to record yourself, or 'Import a beat' to drop in an instrumental. Every new track you add is automatically armed (the red Record button records onto it). Want to record onto a different track? Right-click that track and choose 'Record on this track'. Your projects save and show up under 'Continue' so you can pick up where you left off.

Audio Studio: how do I import a beat or audio?

Two ways: (1) Double-click anywhere on a track's lane to drop an audio file straight into that track at that spot. (2) Use 'Import audio (new track)' in the track list to bring a file in on a brand-new track. WAV, MP3, M4A and more are accepted. The Voice/Audio track itself is for recording — importing always lands on a lane you point at or a fresh track.

Audio Studio: recording your voice + AutoPitch

Accepted Answer

Add a voice track (or arm one with right-click), then hit the red Record button — allow your mic when asked. Play back any existing tracks record in time with them. If a track's 'Tune' toggle is on, your take is AutoPitched to the song Key/Scale you set up top the moment it lands. You can also select any clip and press 'AutoPitch' to snap it to key after the fact.

Audio Studio: editing clips (cut, copy, paste, duplicate, drag)

Click a clip to select it. Right-click it for Copy, Duplicate, Paste and Delete. You can also drag a clip left/right to move it in time (it snaps to the beat), or drag it up/down onto another track. Grab the pitch slider on a selected clip to shift it in semitones. Use the Cut button up top to remove a selected clip.

Audio Studio: moving & organising tracks

Each track header has up/down arrows to reorder it, M (mute) and S (solo) buttons, a volume slider, a 'Tune' AutoPitch toggle, and a record-arm dot. Rename a track by typing in its name field. Tracks are unlimited and the timeline auto-scrolls and extends as your song gets longer, so keep layering as long as you like.

Audio Studio: the instruments (Keyboard, Drum Pads, Sampler)

Open the Instruments dock at the bottom. Keyboard is a playable synth (pick a timbre). Drum Pads trigger kick/snare/hat/clap/808. Sampler lets you load a one-shot and play it pitched across the keys. Hit 'Record' in the dock, play a performance, and it renders onto a new track in your timeline.

Audio Studio: noise gate & lyrics with November

Select a clip, open the Lyrics panel and set the Noise gate slider, then press 'Gate' up top to strip background hiss/silence. In the same panel you can paste your lyrics or tap 'Write with November' to have Novum's AI write or continue them in your style. You can even type commands like 'delete track 2' or 'rename track 1 to Hook' and November edits your session.

Audio Studio: saving projects & exporting

Tap Save to name and store your project — it's kept on your device and reappears under 'Continue' with all your tracks and audio intact. Export a full mixdown with 'WAV', or hit 'Distribute' to download it and jump straight into creating a release.

Design Studio: making your first design

When you open Design Studio it asks 'What do you want to make?' — pick a YouTube thumbnail, Instagram post, Story/Reel, Cover art, or a Custom canvas. You can change the size anytime. Add text, elements and images, then export a PNG when you're done.

Design Studio: Elements, Upload & Stock photos

Use the left toolbar: Text adds editable text; Elements opens shapes (box, circle, triangle, arrow, line, star); Upload adds your own image; Stock opens a large library of free, royalty-free stock photos. Click any element or photo to drop it on the canvas.

Select any object to see its controls: drag the top handle to rotate freely, or use the Rotate slider in the right panel for an exact angle. The Layers panel lets you reorder, bring to front/back, adjust opacity (great for watermarks/overlays), duplicate and delete. Right-click for quick actions too.

Which plan do I need for As and Ds?

Audio Studio and Design Studio are part of Novum Studio plans. You can get Full Access (both apps), or just Audio Studio, or just Design Studio, and bundle multiple. Distro Pro+ plans include Audio Studio (As). You can cancel or pause anytime from Settings — see 'How do I cancel my plan?'. Everything is included with no locked 'pro' features, and updates keep coming.

It's not a record label or a company you sign your life to — it's a service that handles distribution, royalties, promotion, analytics and strategy for you, on plans you control. You keep your ownership; Novum operates the business side and takes only the agreed percentage tied to your plan.

Novum's original full name is November's Sound. That's exactly why the in-house AI is called November — he carries the original name of the platform.

Question 16

What does the Novum logo mean? Is it a pause bar?

The Novum logo doubles as an '11' — the 11th month, November — a deliberate nod to November's Sound and to the AI, November. A lot of people read it as a pause/play bar, and the founder liked that dual meaning, so it was kept on purpose. So it's both: an 11 and a pause.

How do I create an account?

Pick your path — Artist, Brand, Creator, or a Novum AI pass — from the Plans page or the Get Started button. Choose a plan, create your login, and you're in. Brands and Partners go through a short inquiry first.

Question 20

I think someone logged into my account — what do I do?

1) Change your password immediately from Settings. 2) If you're locked out, use 'Forgot password' on the login screen to get a reset link by email. 3) Contact the Novum team via Support in your dashboard so we can lock the account and review recent activity. Never share your password — Novum staff will never ask for it.

How do I reset my password?

On the login page tap 'Forgot password', enter your email, and we'll send a secure reset link from the Novum Accounts Manager. Admins can also trigger a reset for you if you reach out to Support.

Question 22

My account was stolen. Can Novum help?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Contact Support from any device or email the team. We can verify ownership, lock the account, reset access and restore your plan. The faster you report it, the faster we can secure it.

How do I cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings → Plan & billing → Cancel plan. Cancellation takes effect right away and your dashboard locks until you pick a new plan. Payments already made are non-refundable per our Terms.

How do I upgrade or switch plans?

Settings → Plan & billing → choose a plan. You'll be taken to secure checkout, and your dashboard updates to the new plan once payment clears.

How do I upload music to Novum?

Go to Distribution and tap the + (New release). Step 1 — upload your cover art (square, at least 1400x1400, max 20MB, no logos or social handles) and add each track with its WAV file (16-bit/44.1kHz or higher; MP3s aren't accepted) plus any beat lease/clearance file. Step 2 — enter your release title (just the title, no artist name or version), version if it's a remix/live/acoustic, genre, and artist(s) as primary or featuring. Step 3 — pick your stores and territories (Worldwide by default). Step 4 — review and submit. Your team checks it, then it's delivered.

What do the release fields mean? (Release Editor manual)

Title: your single/EP/album name only — no artist name, version or special characters. Version: e.g. 'Jean Paul Remix' (leave blank for originals). Genres: a primary genre supported by all stores, plus an optional subgenre. Artwork: >=1400x1400 (up to 6000x6000), <=20MB, no store logos or social handles. Artists: add each primary artist in its own field and featured artists as 'featuring' — one artist per field, consistent spelling. Optional: UPC/EAN (auto if blank), Label name (defaults to the primary artist), Catalogue number, Recording location (city, country — helps your PRO pay you), Original release date (only if previously released), (C) Copyright rep, (P) Master owner (defaults to label, else artist).

What do the release statuses mean?

Pending — submitted and waiting for the Novum team to review. Approved — cleared and queued for delivery. Delivered — live/sent to the stores you selected. Modification needed — we need a change; check the note on the release and resubmit. Rejected — it couldn't go out as-is (usually rights/artwork/metadata); the note explains why.

Do I need Musixmatch for lyrics?

Add lyrics to each track in the editor and we'll send them to as many stores as possible. For Spotify and Instagram lyric sync specifically, create a free Musixmatch account and upload/sync your lyrics there once the release is live. Label explicit tracks as explicit.

How does the release date work?

Choose 'as soon as possible' (live in ~2 hours to 5 days depending on the platform) or set a specific date at least one week out so we have time to deliver everywhere. If you're moving a release from another distributor, tick 'previously distributed' and set the original release date so it stays in order on your artist pages.

How do royalties work?

Novum distributes your music and pays out 100% of what it receives from third-party stores/DSPs — Novum does not take a cut of your royalties on any plan. If those third parties pay nothing, there's nothing to pay out. Royalties for a release unlock once that individual release passes 2,000 streams.

November is Novum's own in-house AI — a creative brain for artists, brands and creators. He writes lyrics, plans releases, sources beats on BeatStars and YouTube, helps brands with strategy, and coaches creators. He's tuned per plan and only works for Novum members.
